Creating Inclusive Organizational Cultures

Inclusive organizational cultures don’t happen by accident.

Think of inclusion as a verb. It’s how we walk, talk, interact, and collaborate.

At its core, inclusion is a function of how power is used throughout the organization, between all coworkers, and across all ranks. The ways we use our power – personal and positional, formal and informal – in our professional interactions creates the experience of inclusion or exclusion in the workplace.

So it’s important to be conscious of these behaviors. Remember, you don’t need a lot of power to misuse it.
